Our Process

1. FIRST STEPS

Early in the process, it is a good idea to begin conversing with a lending professional. They are able to prequalify you, laying the groundwork for your project budget. If you are in need of a lender, we are happy to recommend ones that have proven trustworthy and efficient throughout our years of experience.

Additionally, if you have already selected a property, it’s helpful for us to see the site firsthand in order to determine how the formation of the land will affect the project design.

2. DESIGN

No matter how long you’ve been dreaming of your building project, you probably have a basic idea of the style and design that will best fit your needs.

In the initial design meeting, we will help you formulate these ideas into a cohesive plan. As we discuss options together, our previous work will give you a clear vision of cost and timeframe.

Some things you might consider bringing to the initial meeting include a list of your must have items, as well as the ideas you dream of incorporating if the budget allows. You will also want to bring sketches, graph-paper drawings, inspiration photos, and any other documents that will help us design your project.

After the initial meeting, we will create drawings to establish the floor plans. Once you have approved those plans, we will draft final blueprints showing the elevations and aspects of the project.
The design phase is the road map that guides the rest of your project. Our process ensures that, in the end, your project is as original and unique as you desire.

3. PRODUCT SELECTIONS

Once the floor plan has been approved, it’s time for you to make some exciting choices about the products that will be used.

Specific decisions about colors and shapes will come later. At this point, you will choose the type of materials to be used to that we can finalize the price. For instance, will the flooring be ceramic tile, carpet, or hardwood? Will the exterior be log, stucco,  brick, stone, or siding? These products are often available in maintenance-free materials, giving you the added bonus of easy upkeep and more free time in the future.

4. INVESTMENT

Bear Ridge Construction offers beautiful options to fit any budget. Rather than pricing our homes by square foot, we arrive at your final price by adding all of the project’s individual components together. This method gives you flexibility with your design and a better overall price.

Once we have arrived at a price, you will be ready to finalize the financing with your lender. As mentioned above, we are more than happy to recommend trusted and efficient lenders based on our past experiences.

5. FINAL CHOICES

After the financial aspect of your project is solidified, you will be able to choose the specific products to be used. These decisions may include the following:

  • Flooring
  • Paint
  • Stain
  • Trim
  • Shingles or Metal Roof
  • Exterior Color

You will also meet with our trade subcontractors to go over items such as:

  • Plumbing Fixtures
  • Electrical Wiring
  • Heating System

If you change your mind after a decision has been made, we will try our best to make sure your preference is achieved. Changes can often be made if the materials have not yet been ordered. In addition, if you are experiencing indecision about a particular item that isn’t needed until a later stage in the project, it may be feasible for you to make your choice at a future date.

6. CONSTRUCTION

As the construction process begins, you are finally able to see your dream become a reality!

Bear Ridge Construction is capable of doing any amount of construction needed. While some customers prefer that we handle the entire project, others just need us to construct a portion of the building.

Regardless of the scope of work, we are always available to answer questions and provide solutions. Once the job has been completed and cleaned up, we do a walk-through with you to make sure that everything has turned out just as you envisioned.

Finally the long-awaited day has arrived! You are able to move into your new space and make it your own.

7. POST MOVE-IN

Rather than leaving you to fend for yourself once the project is completed, we continue to make ourselves available for questions and concerns. We also offer a warranty on our workmanship, and, when applicable, product warranties transfer to you.

Because of our excellent craftsmanship and all-encompassing service, will have customers who come back to us for multiple projects and are quick to give us a good referral.
